Remote Transport Video Surveillance

GPS monitoring systems keep improving every day. While at the beginning it was just simple pinpoint of location on a basic 2D map, today we have intelligent systems, capable of many more things - from monitoring of actual weight on each truck trailer's axle to email warnings of too low oil pressure in tractor's engine.
Ant now there's another new and useful feature implemented with GPS Tracking - Video Surveillance.
This camera is connected to GPS tracker, so on the same viewscreen you will be able to monitor exact object's position and stream live video/photo from the location. Camera can be set up to stream HD quality, but you have to be aware that you should be on unlimited data plan with your sim provider, as HD streaming takes a lot of data. Of course, even lower resolution video will show perfect quality, and even at night time the video will be crystal clear with infrared LEDs. Contact us and we will demonstrate all features.

How to track teenage drivers

Well, you might have various reasons for that. First of all, security and safety of your kids, who just started driving. Inexperienced drivers might have so many different issues, which can ruin their trip suddenly. Imagine young woman driver with a flat tyre at night in the middle of nowhere and dead phone's battery. In this scenario GPS tracking comes to help - you can easily see where the car is and when has it stopped. Or even worse scenario - car accident has happened, no one's answering the phone, even if car's battery is disconnected, you can see exact spot where the event happened and immediately contact emergency services or even drive to the area.
Young man drivers, borrowing dad's car, always promise they'll have well on the road, which is not always the case. With GPS tracker you can set up automatic text message notifications for overspeeding alerts, also you can monitor harsh acceleration and braking.
We supply standalone trackers, which can be easily hidden anywhere in the car, also there are waterproof solutions to hide the tracker externally.
Whatever are your needs, let us know and we will offer best solution for you.

Diesel price on the rise again with 2013 budget

So the only way left to save the costs on fuel spend is to keep an eye on your fleet's diesel consumption. The tracker would allow to monitor harsh breaking and harsh acceleration, which is one of the most important factors, influencing fuel consumption. Especially that's noticeable in trucks' fuel usage graph-you can easily compare different drivers' driving habits and then manage the data accordingly. There are even courses, organized by new truck sellers, to teach to drive the trucks in proper, "eco-friendly" way. Also there are worldwide based competitions, heavily attended from all countries, to emphasize the importance of energy-efficient driving.

Harsh braking  can cause irreversible damage with trucks and buses: first of all, braking discs will overheat and driver will lose the ability to stop at all, not mentioning of a danger getting blocked brake pads and catching up the fire of the tyre - in that case the load and the truck is lost, unless the driver reacts very quickly.
Fleet management software helps to read and analyze drivers' behavior data, allows to have less frequent servicing periods, saves fuel, and of course-environment.

At these uncertain times it's important to have certainty at least in a few areas of life - would it be business or personal. This small portable GPS tracker is a solution to many problems.
Once you send text message to it, it will respond with direct link to Google Maps and you can see where the object is - if it's moving, you will see it's current speed.

You can also set up the tracking function - the tracker can periodically send texts with a location link as often as you set up the tracker to do that.

Geofence function is also available with this tiny gadget - you can specify the radius (in meters) around the current position of the tracker. If the tracker exceeds the set radius, it will immediately send warning to your mobile phone.

This tracker even has a spying function - if you dial to simcard's number, it will automatically answer your call and you can listen to surroundings of a tracker, as it has microphone built in. Tracker does not give any notification sound when you are calling to it, so you can be sure your call won't be noticed.
The tracker has the ability to determine approximate location even if there is no GPS coverage (for instance in underground car parking). In this case it will use the GSM mobile network to determine it's position, but it won't be as precise as GPS based location - still you can get approximate area of an object.

GPS tracker also has Sleep Function. When Sleep mode is activated, GPS and GSM receivers are fully disabled, so the battery life increases. If sleep mode is activated, tracker cannot receive any commands, until his next automatic wake up - tis emans you can still send the commands, but they will be processed only when it the tracker wakes up.
Sleep mode is very useful with Geofence function - you can activate Geofence and activate sleep mode for 2 days. The tracker is then activated every 2 days, it checks it's position, sends you text message if it's outside of defined radius area and then goes back to sleep mode.

Teltonika FM 5300 GPS Tracker

Ok, here we have the advanced tracker, which GPS data could be used for pinpointing missiles-it's that accurate. Well, it hasn't been tested in this way, but hopefully we won't any get enquiries for that purpose. Anyway, it's pumped with GPS (Global Positioning System) and GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) abilities.
GPS was created by US army for their needs at the beginning. Of course, Russia decided that they should stick to their native products, so they've made their own. And that's where consumer wins - now we can have best of both.
Usually any GPS device needs at least 4 GPS satellites out of total 24 flying around the globe, to show the position on map. But with GLONASS you have another net of 24 satellites. So the chances, that you won'get any satellite signal when you are in the woods or in between 2 high skyscrapers are gone to minimum. Double network of satellites allows to get location much faster after fresh start, get more accurate positions, use less power trying to retrieve signal from satellite (that's important if you have limited power supplies or you have mobile phone equipped with GLONASS).

Getting back to FM5300 - it has 2 RS232 ports now, so you can use fuel sensors, Garmin functionality and other features all together. Call us - we will gladly share it's abilities.

Contactless Fuel Reading. CANbus and non-CAN

CAN bus is a digital interface, used to exchange information between the engine controller and other electronic units of a vehicle. Of course, not all information is required for fleet managers-most important information for them to retrieve is fuel consumption in real time, also total and average usage of fuel. To get that information dircetly from modern vehicles is quite complicated, as manufacturers put much effort to protect all this information from unauthorized  access for various reasons. Also, if any physical changes are done to the wiring, you'll definitely void the warranty of vehicle.
So here comes the solution-contactless CAN reader, that clips onto CAN wires ( does not chop or join them) and transmits all the information to telematics unit in contactless way.
What if your vehicle does not support CAN bus interface? No problem, there's another version of device, that can be connected to the engine's nozzle and then by counting impulses from it, calculates fuel usage.

Tachographs supposed to be GPS equipped in 5 years time

The European Parliament’s Committee of Transport (TRAN) wants to bring forward the date by which all new heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) must be equipped with a ‘smart’ tachograph (the device that records the driving and rest time of lorry drivers).
This has to be done to prevent fraud, which still happens with electronic tachographs-system isn't as effective, as was expected before launching it.
GPS enabled system would enable institutions on the road to choose for checking only vehicles which have bad records already, saving time and costs, instead of stopping every vehicle.
According to a report by Silvia-Adriana Ticau (S&D, Romania), adopted on 31 May, this should be around 2017 (24 months after the entry into force of technical specifications that the Commission hopes to adopt at the latest by the end of 2014).
It was also proposed that older lorries equipped with old devices should be “retro-equipped” by 2020 at the latest.
We can offer affordable solution already now, so if your transport is 2006-onwards, we can help.
